SimplyPhotos lets photographers share event photos, and lets each guest find the photos they appear in by scanning their face. This page explains what we collect and why.
For guests
Face scan. When you choose “Find my photos” and agree, your device takes a few pictures of your face and turns them into numeric face prints. The pictures themselves are processed on your device; we store the face prints, a small profile picture and the name you enter.
What it's used for. Only to find you in the photos of the event you scanned at. Your face print is never compared with other events, sold, or used for advertising.
Deleting it. Use “Delete my face data” in the event's menu at any time. It's also deleted when the photographer deletes the event or the event's auto-delete date passes.
Cookies. We use cookies only to remember that this device belongs to you at an event, and that you entered an event password.
For photographers
You sign in with Google; we receive your name, email address and profile picture. You control your events: who can see what, whether downloads are allowed, and when everything is deleted. You are responsible for having the right to share the photos you upload.
To find faces, photos are analysed in your own browser while they upload. We store the photos, smaller copies for viewing, and the face prints of the faces found in them.
Where data is stored
Photos are stored with our storage provider, and event data, face prints and accounts in our database provider. Access always goes through SimplyPhotos with short-lived links.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data. Guests can delete their face data themselves from the event menu.
